Using Apple Macs since 1988

History

We have been using & repairing Apple Mac computers since 1988.

Raw Paw Design & ABC Raw Paw Apple Support  was formed in 1990.

Coming from the 'Desktop Publishing' revolution coined by Aldus PageMaker & using early Mac Plus's & Mac II's, MacOS 6 & 7 & classic software like MacDraw & MacWrite to name just a few, we have worked with Apple's innovative technology & kept up to date too, but unlike our respected Mac creator, we still support most legacy Macs & Operating Systems.

Our Mac history stems from being there shortly after the exciting innovation of 'pull down menus' & other GUI's (graphic user interfaces) invented by Xerox & adapted by Steve Jobs in 1984 in his MacOS version 1.1 operating system.

Since becoming a professional traditional 'Cut & Paste' Graphic Artist in 1985, 3 years later in 1988 I met my first Apple Mac when I started working for an early 'Apple Mac Services Bureau' in Ware. Apart from providing 'Desktop Publishing' services, over the next 3 years we were tasked to learn & use early software titles such as Pagemaker 3.0, Quark Xpress 1.0, Illustrator 88, Aldus Freehand then in 1990 Adobe Photoshop 1.0 (which was delivered when small enough to fit onto a 1.4 MB Floppy disk).

We also tried & tested now defunct Photo processing & rostrum 'scanning' devices that didn't make the cut.

As time flew by the need for Mac Operators was growing in London.

So in 1990, I left for the City & formed Raw Paw Design & shortly after, ABC Raw Paw Apple Support. We would fly to California's silicon Valley, to purchase Apple Macintosh PC's & used them to run design advertising services & also freelancing for London Design agencies mainly for the Games & Music Industry. I found that these tired & well used Macs had to be maintained before I could even start delivering the artwork or designs in hand. This was the start of my Apple Mac Repair career!

Using a Mac in those days was a deeply satisfying 'wysiwyg' (what you see is what you get) experience.

Its now taken for granted but a lot has changed over the years, from early beige Macs through to multi coloured transparent G3 iMacs to now using state of the art M3 iMacs, but it still remains that using a Mac is like no other relationship any other computer based system can bring.

Over the decades, we have helped many famous musicians & DJs, TV & box office Film actors, successful writers, broadcasters & current TV presenters, award winning Industrial designers, film directors, surgeons, doctors & professors, graphic designers, illustrators & thousands of humble home Mac users. All are our beloved customers who keep us going with great coffee!

We do still design but in a much lower capacity which helps us keep up to date with design technology & aids us with our tuition services.

We have won innovative awards & have sourced numerous Refurbished Mac Sales.

We modestly operate from our studio these days, which keeps costs down & we plan to be doing what we love for many more years to come!

Needless to say, our passion still remains but don't just take our word for it:
